Enhanced Federal Security Act of 2000
Sec, 716. Police badges (a) Whoever -(1) knowingly transfers, transports, or receives in interstate or foreign commerce, a counterfeit police badge
(2) knowingly transfers, in interstate or foreign commerce, a genuine police badge to an individual, knowing such individual is not authorized to possess it under the laws of the place in which the badge is the official badge of the police; (3) knowingly receives a genuine police badge in a transfer prohibited by paragraph (2); or (4) being a person not authorized to possess a genuine police badge under the law of the place in which the badge is the official badge of the police, knowingly transports a badge in interstate or foreign commerce, shall be fined under this title or if the badge is used or is intended to be used exclusively-- (1) as a memento, or in a collection or exhibit; (2) for decorative purposes; (3) for a dramatic presentation, such as a theatre production, film, or television production; or (4) for any other recreational purpose. (c) As used in this section - (1) the term genuine police badge' means an official badge issued by public authority to identify an individual as a law enforcement officer having police powers; and (2) the term 'counterfeit police badge' means a badge that so resembles a police badge that it would deceive an ordinary individual into believing it was a genuine police badge.

Florida State Statutes Fl § 843.085 Unlawful use of police badges or other indicia of authority.--It is unlawful for any person:

3) To sell, transfer, or give away the authorized badge, or colorable imitation thereof, including miniatures, of any criminal justice agency as now or hereafter defined in s. 943.045, or bearing in any manner or combination the word or words "police," "patrolman," "sheriff," "deputy," "trooper," "highway patrol," "Wildlife Officer," "Marine Patrol Officer," "marshal," "constable," "agent," "state attorney," "public defender," or "bailiff," which could deceive a reasonable person into believing that such item is authorized by any of the agencies described above, except for agency purchases or upon the presentation and recordation of both a driver's license and other identification showing any transferee to actually be a member of such criminal justice agency or unless the person is appointed by the Governor pursuant to chapter 354. A transferor of an item covered by this subsection is required to maintain for 2 years a written record of such transaction, including records showing compliance with this subsection, and if such transferor is a business, it shall make such records available during normal business hours for inspection by any law enforcement agency having jurisdiction in the area where the business is located.

In accordance with the above law, all persons buying or trading with me must give their personal information (Name, address, and intended use of badge), please note that this information is required strictly for the law and not for personal gain. Your information will not be shared with anyone except law enforcement personnel investigating my records. Custom badges ordered referencing law enforcement agencies or the wearer as a law enforcement officer or entity thereof are subject to strict restrictions on sale of these items. All persons purchasing custom badges that are current issue must accept this policy in order to purchase such items that are restricted. All persons must supply proof of employment, by either official letterhead and or personally verifying information, with their said agency and submit to the strict policy of verification. Shipping of restricted items will be done the most secure way of maintaining written proof of delivery to the intended person. Until further notice, all custom badge orders will be hand delivered by U.S. Cop Collectibles & Supply to the person making the purchase. If you require the custom badge to be shipped, then it will only be shipped to the agency that is on your custom badge. I reserve the right to refuse any service that I provide to anyone at anytime. Patrol Tags are a custom made product of U.S. Cop Collectibles & Supply and are marketed as such. If a Patrol Tag is not to your specifications then you must ship the tag back with the receipt with in 30 days of purchase. A $10.00 return fee will apply if the defect is a customer error. All tag orders referencing a Law Enforcement Agency must be accompanied by a copy of an official identification card, or letter of authorization on a department letter head signed by a commanding officer, or department head.
